Sauver Des Chiens, French for “To Save The Dogs,” was founded in November 2016. SDC is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer, foster-based organization. We are based in Texas but have fosters and dogs throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Our passion and mission is to rescue neglected, unwanted, and abused German Shepherds and Large Paw Dogs to find them a new, permanent, and loving home. All dogs receive full veterinary care, including spay/neuter, positive training, and necessary behavior modification before they are ready to adopt.

We are still a relatively new German Shepherd Rescue group, but we have saved many lives. We run our group with honesty, integrity, and heart.

We could not do this without the help of all of our volunteers and donors.

Won’t you join us in this endeavor? Everything you do makes a difference

Meet our Founder: Karen Blanchard

Karen is one of the most passionate dog-loving people our group has ever seen. She is committed to ensuring everyone’s voice is heard, even those who cannot speak for themselves. She is our founding member and has been in the rescue industry for 2.5 years. There are a lot of people out there that forget this is a volunteer trade. However, Karen’s devotion and reliability would emulate one of someone who makes millions. Thank you, Karen, for working so hard and ensuring these babies have a second chance!
